The Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) recently convened to discuss the 1st quarter 2025 performance monitoring report. This crucial step aims to chart a new course for the development of the Districts and the Bono East Region.
As the region prepares new development plans for 2026-2029, MMDCEs are urged to take a leadership role and engage in broad-based consultations with stakeholders. These stakeholders include traditional authorities, youth groups, communities, and refugees.
The focus areas for development include:
- Resolving cattle herdsmen and crop-farmer conflicts
- Addressing youth unemployment
- Promoting gender mainstreaming
- Improving water, sanitation, and hygiene
To address some of these challenges, a proposal has been made to develop new settlements for cattle herdsmen and refugees. These settlements would provide economic enclaves and livelihood opportunities, helping to redirect their activities towards new businesses and livelihoods.
By working together and identifying innovative solutions, the RCC aims to bring hope and new opportunities to the Districts and Communities. The goal is to strive for a brighter future for the Bono East Region.
