Building Capacity: Bono East Holds Leadership and Orientation Meeting for Nurse Managers

As part of efforts to enhance leadership capacity, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration among Nursing and Midwifery leaders, the Bono East Regional Health Directorate on Thursday, 25th September, 2025 successfully organized a one-day leadership and orientation meeting.

The meeting focused on addressing current challenges in service delivery, improving patient care, promoting professional growth, and providing orientation for the newly assigned Nurse Managers of Hub Health Centres under the Network of Practice (NoP).

Participants included Nursing and Midwifery managers from GHS, CHAG, Muslim Mission facilities, hospitals, and polyclinics, as well as newly assigned Health Centre Nurse Managers under the NoP.

Key sessions were led by the Deputy Director of Public Health, Dr. Andrews Ayim, the Regional Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Mrs. Joyce Eshun, Rev. Jefferson Agbotro – JAK Consult and other facilitators.

Topics covered included Problem-Solving Skills, Emotional Intelligence, Nursing and Midwifery Building Blocks, and the NursMid Audit Tool — all aimed at equipping Nurse Managers to provide strong leadership and ensure the delivery of quality nursing and midwifery care across the region.
