On Thursday, 30th July 2026, the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council, in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), organized the Bono East Regional Investment Roadshow in Techiman under the theme, “Driving Local Investment and Unlocking Regional Potential.”
The event provided a platform to showcase the Region’s investment opportunities and explore strategies to attract private-sector investment to accelerate economic growth and development.
Operating around three key objectives — mapping opportunities, mobilising growth, and driving local investment — the initiative seeks to align the Government’s Reset Agenda with efforts to build a stronger, more self-reliant private sector capable of creating jobs and driving sustainable economic transformation.
As a major agricultural hub, Bono East continues to face significant post-harvest losses estimated at between 30% and 40%. The Region is therefore seeking strategic investment in food processing and agro-processing industries to add value to agricultural produce, reduce post-harvest losses, create jobs, and improve incomes for local farmers.
The Region also possesses abundant water resources and litigation-free arable land, providing a favourable environment for large-scale agricultural and agro-processing investments.
Attention was also drawn to ongoing infrastructure initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy Market at the Wa Lorry Station in Techiman, which is expected to complement and strengthen commercial activities around the Techiman Market and create additional opportunities for businesses.
The planned launch of the Women’s Development Bank was also highlighted as an important intervention to support women traders and entrepreneurs through access to low-interest financing, mentorship and financial literacy.
In the tourism and hospitality sector, Bono East continues to record growing interest in domestic tourism, supported by its numerous natural and cultural attractions. However, the limited availability of high-end hospitality facilities, including five-star hotels, presents a significant investment opportunity for private-sector investors.
The Roadshow ultimately underscored the need for stronger collaboration between government and the private sector to unlock Bono East’s economic potential, attract investment, create employment opportunities and position the Region as a competitive destination for sustainable investment.
