It was a great honour for the Regional Minister to serve as Special Guest of Honour at the unveiling of the Bono East Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
Addressing members of the media fraternity and invited guests, the Minister reaffirmed government’s unwavering commitment to creating an enabling environment where journalists can work freely, safely, and without fear. He emphasized that no journalist should be intimidated, harassed, or attacked for carrying out their critical responsibility to inform the public and safeguard democracy.
The Minister further charged members of the media to let their stories serve as catalysts for unity and development—stories that heal divisions, promote innovation, inspire positive action, and hold leadership and citizens alike to higher standards. He encouraged journalists to prioritize verification, amplify accurate information, and project the Bono East story in its full, fair, and balanced spectrum.
He noted that a strong democracy thrives on responsible, ethical, and professional journalism. Through partnership and mutual respect between government and the media, a more informed, united, and progressive society can be built for the benefit of all.
