The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson, has officially commissioned the Bono East Regional Capital Passport Office, marking a significant milestone in government’s efforts to decentralise essential public services.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by key government officials and stakeholders, who described the facility as a clear demonstration of President Mahama’s commitment to bringing vital services closer to the people. The new Passport Office is expected to ease the burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances to access passport services.
Speaking at the event, officials noted that the facility will not only improve access to passport services but also create employment opportunities and enhance regional connectivity. The project aligns with the President Mahama-led administration’s broader agenda of infrastructure development and improved service delivery across the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was commended for its role in bringing the project to fruition, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the new office will contribute significantly to socio-economic development in the Bono East Region.
