The Bono East Regional Minister has inaugurated the District Spatial Planning Committees across the region as part of efforts to promote orderly, sustainable and inclusive development.
The committees are expected to play a critical role in guiding land use planning, coordinating physical development, and ensuring that development activities within the districts are properly managed to support the region’s long-term growth.
Addressing members at the inauguration ceremony, the Regional Minister underscored the importance of effective spatial planning in achieving sustainable development. He noted that the committees would help ensure that infrastructure, settlements and economic activities are planned in a manner that maximizes land use while protecting the environment and serving the needs of present and future generations.
He urged members to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism and dedication, emphasizing that their decisions would significantly influence the future development of communities across the Bono East Region.
The Minister reaffirmed the Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to supporting the committees in delivering on their mandate and called for strong collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure effective planning and implementation.
He concluded by encouraging all stakeholders to work together towards building a Bono East Region where development is well-planned, sustainable and beneficial to every citizen.
