The Regional Minister officially distributed the government’s allocation of streetlights to the District and Municipal Assemblies through the Local Government Service as part of ongoing efforts to enhance community lighting across the region.
This initiative is aimed at improving visibility, safety, and security within towns and communities, particularly during the festive season when public activity increases. Adequate street lighting is expected to help reduce crime, promote economic activity at night, and create a more secure environment for residents and visitors alike.
The Assemblies were encouraged to ensure the timely installation and proper maintenance of the streetlights to maximize their impact and guarantee long-term benefits for the people.
This intervention reflects government’s commitment to strengthening local infrastructure and safeguarding communities through practical and responsive development measures.
