The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) Bono East Team, on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of GIFEC, has presented 400 Lenovo laptops to the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council in preparation for the Government’s flagship One Million Coders Programme.
The laptops were officially received by the Bono East Regional Minister for onward distribution to the respective Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs). The MMDCEs are expected to ensure the devices reach designated training centres across the beneficiary districts.
A total of eight districts have been selected to benefit from this initiative, which is designed to equip young people with essential digital literacy and coding skills to enhance their competitiveness in the evolving digital economy.
The programme forms part of Government’s broader agenda to promote ICT education, youth empowerment, and innovation-driven development across the country.
