BONO EAST REGIONAL MINISTER HANDS OVER 400 LAPTOPS UNDER ONE MILLION CODERS PROGRAMME

On behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), the Bono East Regional Minister handed over 400 Lenovo laptops to eight selected districts in the Bono East Region under the Government’s flagship One Million Coders Programme.

The laptops were received by the respective Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for onward distribution to designated training centres across the beneficiary districts to support digital and coding training for the youth.

The intervention forms part of Government’s broader agenda to equip young people with practical ICT and coding skills to prepare them for opportunities in the digital economy and enhance innovation, entrepreneurship, and employability among the youth.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Regional Minister underscored the importance of digital literacy and technological advancement in national development. The Minister noted that the One Million Coders Programme demonstrates Government’s strong commitment to empowering the youth with future-ready skills capable of transforming lives and communities.

The Regional Minister also encouraged beneficiaries and training centres to make effective use of the laptops to ensure the success of the programme and maximize its impact across the region.

The Bono East Regional Coordinating Council remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote digital transformation, youth empowerment, and inclusive development throughout the region.
